MacNaughton Adds Waikiki Malia to its Hospitality Portfolio
Waikiki Malia, a recent addition to the MacNaughton hospitality portfolio, is thrilled to announce, in a co-ownership partnership with the long-time owner, the Kawazoe family, the successful completion of the initial phase of its $16 million renovation project. The comprehensive update encompasses the hotel's common areas, lobby, and Malia Tower, which boasts 276 beautifully-appointed guestrooms.
Drawing inspiration from the captivating and organic allure of Hawaii, the hotel's new design radiates a refreshing, timeless, and tranquil ambiance that resonates deeply with guests. A highlight of the renovation is an awe-inspiring courtyard mural, masterfully crafted by acclaimed local artist Erin Ibarra. This masterpiece showcases a magnificent ocean goddess, gracefully inviting guests to honor Hawaii's precious island resources.
Beyond the breathtaking aesthetics, each guestroom has undergone a complete transformation, featuring all-new furniture, ambient lighting, luxury mattresses, and cutting-edge smart technology including state-of-the-art, wall-mounted 55" media screens. Furthermore, the refreshed bathrooms exude a simple elegance, adorned with upscale amenities to enhance the guest experience.
PVH Construction, recognized for its excellence in the Waikiki hospitality market, served as the project's general contractor, while RLB was entrusted with the role of construction manager. Spearheading the interior design with locally-inspired taste and vision, Smith Firestone Associates has created an environment that seamlessly melds sophistication with a profound sense of aloha.
"We are thrilled about this grand unveiling of the extensive and stylish enhancements and look forward to warmly welcoming our treasured guests," stated Sheryl Tsugawa, General Manager of Waikiki Malia. "Our new design pays homage to the breathtaking beauty that envelops us here in Hawaii, seamlessly infused with a modern sense of aloha."
Upcoming renovations to the Waikiki Malia’s Luana Tower are currently in the design phase, with construction expected to commence in 2024 with an expected completion date of mid-2025.
