Investment/ 

Since our founding in 1975, MacNaughton has nurtured longstanding relationships with clients and partners that have, in turn, generated multiple joint ventures.

From real estate and business operations to innovative start-ups and nonprofits, we invest where we can add value to benefit the community or where there is an alignment of vision and values.

Some of our investments have included a Hawaii-based insurance company providing hurricane protection to island families, an affordable rental apartment complex opening up much-needed residential housing, and a jewel Waikiki hotel in need of renovation.

Retail Management 

Our curated team of retail experts has proven their prowess in delivering exceptional results for the communities in which we do business. We focus on merging the right mix of categories and brands – to offer shoppers, diners, and visitors a unique perspective, and an optimal experience in unforgettable destinations. We craft dynamic environments that are experiential, memorable, and enduring, where retailers and restaurateurs can express themselves to their customers and the world.

Third-Party Services/ 

Consulting & Project Management 

MacNaughton also provides management and consulting services in building development, construction, repair, improvements and renovation, project management, and leasing. Such engagements have included ground-up or adaptive reuse development projects for major hospitals, boutique neighborhood properties, and regional malls.


Tenant Representation, Leasing & Retail Franchising 

MacNaughton Commercial Leasing serves in-house projects and assists select retailers and shopping center owners with space leasing.

Over the past four decades, we've helped evolve Hawaii's retail marketplace by facilitating the entry of retail brands to the Hawaii Islands. Our client list includes such prominent brands as Costco, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Target, Petco, OfficeMax, Pier 1, Kmart, P.F. Chang's, Whole Foods Market Hawaii's first luxury theatre, Regal Kapolei Commons 12.

To date, we have leased or developed just under 2 million square feet in retail space, managed four shopping centers with just under 1 million square feet, and negotiated hundreds of leases for our commercial leasing partners.

Through our Retail Franchising operations with Starbucks Hawaii, Jamba Juice Hawaii, and P.F. Chang's Hawaii, we have employed over 2,000 employees, opened 200 locations throughout the Hawaiian Islands, annually produced over $100,000,000 in sales topping the national average by 30 – 40%.
