In March 2018, the Aston Waikiki was acquired for $200M in a leasehold acquisition by a joint venture led by RockpointGroup.

The property sits on 1.3 acres on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki Beach. It currently has 645 keys as well as well-tenanted retail on the ground floor.

Redevelopment plan is to extend the ground lease and renovate the property, with limited re-tenanting.
